Economic Development

Forming the Authority

After several meetings during 2011, the Study Committee for the Waseca County Economic Development Authority recommended the Waseca County Board of Commissioners establish an economic development authority (EDA) for Waseca County. The county board held a public hearing on January 17, 2012, regarding the establishment of a county EDA.

Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.1082, the Waseca County Board of Commissioners approved the formation of a Waseca County Economic Development Authority to administer and offer assistance regarding economic development and redevelopment plans and programs of the county.

The Waseca County Economic Development Authority will operate in cities and townships that request, by resolution, to be included in the EDA.
