Follow-Along Program

“Is your child developing on track? Babies and young children grow and learn at their own rate. However, some children may need help to grow up healthy and learn skills such as sitting, walking, or talking. Waseca County’s Follow Along Program can help you track your child’s development and let you know if your child is playing, talking, growing, moving, and behaving like other children the same age. Participation in the program includes a free children’s book with each completed questionnaire, totaling 10 books by the completion of the program". Enroll online at To learn more about your child’s development or if you have concerns click on the Help Me Grow link below.

Maternal & Child Health (MCH)

The program helps strengthen families through support and education. Home visits with a MCH nurse are offered through Improved Pregnancy Outcome (IPO), New Mom / New Baby (NMNB), and Handicapped / Chronically Ill (HCCI) services to prepare you for a healthy pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum period. Programs are provided at no cost to eligible women. Also available are free pregnancy tests.

Additionally, breastfeeding support and information can be found here.

Car Seat Program

The program provides education and installation assistance to the community and families using car seats. For South Country Health Alliance clients, we provide one car seat per member, from prenatal up to the age of 8 years, along with education and installation assistance about car seat safety. We are also able to supply car seats to UCare and Medica clients and have some limited grant funded car seats available as well.
