Overview and Welcome

The Waseca County Planning and Zoning Department administers land use and zoning ordinances for rural portions of Waseca County. The office handles land use related ordinances such as zoning, subdivisions, and floodplain management.  

Land Use permits commonly handled by this office include zoning permits, subsurface sewage treatment permits, Conditional Use Permits, Variances, Major and Minor subdivisions, and Rezoning.  

The department also works on economic development and redevelopment plans and programs of the County. The department administers the State of Minnesota's Agricultural Best Management Practices loan program (AgBMP) for Waseca County. 

Waseca County Planning and Zoning department maintains addresses, street naming, and numbering county-wide for the E-911 system and is home for the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment
